Colourful, bold interiors abound in The Magic City.

Unapologetically bright and bold, Miami is praised for its vibrant design scene. Art Deco influences are scattered throughout the city by way of powdery pastel buildings constructed with geometric shapes and ornate detailing. The natural environment also plays a starring role in the look and feel of interiors here – how could it not when the beach and its many palm trees are within arm’s reach?

Naturally, those who appreciate maximalist interiors are going to find more than enough inspiration from Miami’s best homes. But for every flamingo-hued paint colour there’s a more subdued scheme that’s equally as interesting. The through line here is a strong design POV with attention to texture, patterns, and shapes.

Below, we look at seven chic Miami homes to bookmark on your Instagram.

1. Bold patterns aplenty via @galeriemagazine

The kind of home that oozes Wes Anderson vibes, this living room belongs to designer Sig Bergamin and is a visual feast of epic proportions. The palm-print sofas echo the lush fauna just outside, and the rattan and wood furniture help cement the tropical vibe. We also love the hand-painted tiled coffee table as well as the large parrot print hanging in the background – how could you not?

2. Soothing natural textures via @collarteinteriors

A subtle nod to the ‘70s, this elegant home in Miami’s Coconut Grove neighbourhood is a study in texture with its plastered ceilings, walnut and oak shelving, and travertine bar. The medley of natural materials lay the groundwork for design accents like stacked books and ceramics to flesh out the room beautifully.

3. Old meets new via @jenniferbunsa

Sometimes the tiniest of corners can spark the most inspiration – such is the case with this charming Miami nook by design firm Bunsa Studio. The intricate wood table and bronze light sconce contrasts the contemporary wavy vase and colourful painting perfectly. For similar results, mix and match time periods and aesthetics to achieve this kind of well-balanced look.

4. Vintage furniture finds via @carlalores

Miami-based designer Carla Lores Guenaga is a lover of funky, vintage furniture and her home is a reflection of these sensibilities. Her travertine and chrome dining table was found via a private seller in Key Biscayne and sets the tone for the room, as does the ornate fireplace in the backdrop. For a touch of colour, the pink-toned painting, mosaic vase, and fresh flowers all give the space a gentle, feminine finish.

5. Statement dining room via @kolkhoze

A Miami Beach home with a statement dining table by Parisian artist Martin Massé, this space boasts high ceilings, loads of natural light, and ceiling to floor wood panelling, which draws the eye upward to the loft level. We also love subtle-but-unique touches like the bust pot adorned with fresh flowers and the chic wet bar in the background.

6. The perfect accent wall via @nickmelephotography

Miami and pink are practically synonymous and this lovely West Palm Beach interior just an hour north feels aligned with the region’s expressive spirit. Other details that complement this bold colour choice include the scalloped edges on the day bed, the bamboo lamp, and the various trinkets carefully assorted throughout the shelves. If this doesn’t inspire you to paint an accent wall we don’t know what will.

7. Biophilic design via @dezeen

A space that seamlessly blends in with its natural surroundings, this Miami residence blends nostalgic, retro influences with contemporary details. The rounded sofas and geometric coffee table create a unique focal point, and architectural elements such as the wood-panelled ceilings all come together for a truly one-of-a-kind home.
