8 Guilty Pleasure Shows We Can’t Get Enough Of

From 'Vanderpump Rules' to 'Emily In Paris' these binge-worthy watches are utterly addictive.

There’s unspoken bliss in having the house to yourself for an evening, spending the entire time on the couch (in your sleepwear, of course), ordering your favourite takeout and binge-watching a show that you probably wouldn’t watch with anyone other than yourself.

When we have time alone, many of us gravitate towards a certain type of entertainment, finding comfort in the binge-worthy shows we might classify as “guilty pleasure” television. But there's no need to feel guilt for enjoying yourself! Snuggle under a quilt, make yourself a snack and settle in for the afternoon with these shows you won't be able to turn off!

1. Vanderpump Rules

First gaining her fame and public notoriety on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Lisa Vanderpump has proven to be so much more than a glamorous housewife. As the co-owner and boss of West Hollywood restaurant SUR, Lisa has to balance her life as a mother with being a businesswoman. The show follows Lisa as she tires to tame her wild group of employees who find themselves falling in and out of complicated relationships with each other, while trying to run her restaurant and look after her family.

2. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

If you love a little bit of television drama in your life, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is the perfect show for you. The show follows the lives of a group of housewives residing in one of LA’s most prestigious suburbs as they attempt to balance their ever-evolving “friendships” with the demands of family life and growing business ventures. Seen it and loved it? You’re in luck, because the Real Housewives franchise has shows based all around the world – we suggest giving RHO Atlanta and RHO Melbourne a go.

3. Indian Matchmaking

Sima Taparia is blunt, canny and exclusive – she's not called Mumbai's top matchmaker for no reason. Her skills are on display in this Netflix dating show, a reality series that explores the world of arranged marriages. Set in a world of luxury and wealth, families pay Taparia large sums to help them secure a life partner for their daughter and, ultimately, a lavish wedding.

4. My Unorthodox Life

You won’t be able to take your eyes off this binge-worthy reality show. It follows the personal and professional life of Julia Haart and her children – former members of an ultra-Orthodox Jewish community – as they learn to navigate leading western lives in New York City. The show jumps between present-day and the past, showing you the contrast between how the family used to lead their lives, and what they get up to now.

5. Selling Sunset

Ever wanted to peek behind the stunningly staged, high-end, value-adding curtain of luxury LA real estate? Selling Sunset will give it to you. This reality series is designed to give you a fly-on-the-wall experience of what it's like to work in the world of California property. The realtors at The Oppenheim Group, the agency at the heart of Selling Sunset, are smart, savvy and no stranger to bringing the drama when bagging the next million-dollar commission. Think Love It Or List It with all the blood, sweat and tears of The Hills or a Real Housewives.

6. Luxe Listings Sydney

Sticking in the real estate realm, Luxe Listings Sydney, is the juicy fix you need if you love Selling Sunset. Join Gavin Rubinstein, D’leanne Lewi, Simon Cohen, and Monika Tu, as all four of them are in contention to secure the most epic deals as the property bubble in Sydney’s glossy eastern suburbs shows no sign of bursting. This is definitely a bingeable series, so cancel all of your plans and prepare for a weekend on the couch to devour this superficial drama.

7. Emily In Paris

Emily In Paris follows Lily Collins’ character Emily Cooper, a marketing executive who is seconded from Chicago to Paris to add 'an American perspective' to a French marketing firm. Emily finds herself in the middle of new friendships, new romances, and new work and life experiences. There are ridiculous outfits, spicy love triangles, and plenty of je ne sais quoi. If you're looking for a light-hearted show to fall in love with, we think you've just found your match.

8. Love Is Blind

Imagine getting married to someone before meeting in person – crazy right? Well that's exactly what happens in the reality TV show Love Is Blind. Hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, this social experiment takes people way out of their comfort zone, and into the unknown as they commit themselves to people they've never even met before. Watch 30 single men and women each episode as they talk to each other with a partition between them, and ultimately decide if the person they've been speaking to is the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with.
